The standards we hold ourselves to — and how to hold us to them.

Buyer-first, always

Every recommendation on this site is made for the person buying the product, not for the commission. When a cheaper option is the better buy, we say so, even though it pays us less. When a category is thin or a product we'd expect to recommend isn't actually sold on Amazon, we tell you that rather than steering you to a worse substitute. If a recommendation and our revenue ever pull in different directions, the recommendation wins.

No paid placement, no free products

How we source and cite

Product facts — dimensions, weights, materials, safety claims — come from the manufacturer's own published information, and we attribute them. Airline limits and fees come from the airline's published policy, dated. Safety certifications come from the independent body that issued them. We cite our sources on each page and we do not cite a source we haven't actually read. Our full method is on how we research.

No fabrication — a hard line

We do not invent prices, ratings, review counts, product claims, testing we didn't do, or credentials our author doesn't hold. Our scores are clearly labeled as editorial judgments from research, never as lab measurements or customer ratings. If we can't verify something, we flag it rather than filling the gap with a confident guess.

Independence of the author

The site is written by a named enthusiast, framed honestly as exactly that. We don't manufacture expertise, tenure, or a testing operation that doesn't exist. What we offer instead is a transparent, repeatable method — which, in a category full of unverifiable "we tested 30 of them" claims, is the more useful thing.

Corrections

We get things wrong sometimes, and specs and policies change. If you spot a factual error, tell us. We aim to correct verified factual mistakes within 48 hours, and we note material corrections on the affected page with the date. Prices are live by design; policy and spec pages are re-verified on a rolling quarterly cadence.
