Black Friday & Cyber Monday Dog Travel Gear Deals 2026

Black Friday is 27 November 2026 and Cyber Monday is 30 November. This page tells you what in this category has actually discounted before, what has not, and what to buy now rather than wait for. Live deals get posted here when they exist — not before.

By Stephen V.Updated How we research
#ad

We earn a commission when you buy through our Amazon links, at no extra cost to you. It never affects our rankings, and we say so when the cheaper product is the better buy. How this works.

The pick with the clearest documented Black Friday history: Tractive's own page announced 40% off its trackers for Black Friday 2025. If you do not need it before late November, this is the one to hold.

Flying before Thanksgiving? Buy the carrier now. Fit and a practice week matter more than any discount we can document.

This page exists in two states. Right now — September 2026 — there are no Black Friday deals, and anyone telling you otherwise is guessing. What we can do today is set out honestly what this category has done in previous Novembers, product class by product class, so you can decide what to buy now and what to hold. When Black Friday deals go live in November, we post them here, with the price we saw and the date we saw it, and nothing gets written on this page that we did not see. The live markdownsboard below is generated from our Amazon price feed on every refresh; the “top picks” further down are the same products that won our category roundups, with the same live prices.

Two rules for reading anything on this page. First, a percentage is only meaningful against a price that was actually charged: Amazon's “list price” is a reference number, not a promise anyone paid it, and we flag that wherever it appears. Second, what a brand did last year is evidence, not a forecast. We quote 2025 because it happened and we can link it; we do not turn it into a prediction for 2026.

Key dates

  • Black Friday 2026: Friday 27 November. Cyber Monday 2026: Monday 30 November.
  • Amazon's window last year: its 2025 Black Friday event ran from 20 November through Cyber Monday on 1 December — twelve days, not one. Amazon had not announced 2026 dates when we wrote this; we will add them here when it does.
  • Returns:Amazon's 2025 holiday policy made most items bought 1 November to 31 December returnable until 31 January 2026 (Apple products to 15 January). Check the 2026 policy before you rely on it — but historically, buying in the Black Friday window has meant a long exchange window for a wrong size.

What has historically discounted in this category

Everything in this section is quoted from a source in the list at the bottom of the page. We searched for records on every major brand we rank; where we found nothing credible, the brand is in the next section, not this one.

Ruffwear (harnesses, life jackets, boots, packs, camp pads)

Documented. For Black Friday 2025, Ruffwear gear on Amazon was reported at 25% off, with the Front Range harness at $41 from $55. Separately — and year-round — Ruffwear's own Specials section sells discontinued styles and previous-season colours at 30–50% off at the time we read it, and the company confirms on its own site that it sends holiday sales emails. The pattern: the popular current colours discount modestly around Black Friday, and the deeper cuts are on colours and styles being cleared. Sizes in the clearance run out first.

Tractive GPS trackers

Documented. Tractive's official page announced “Tractive Smart Dog Trackers are 40% off for Black Friday” on 19 November 2025. Note what is and is not in that sentence: the hardware. The subscription — required, because the tracker has a built-in SIM — is the larger cost over the life of the device, and we found no record of the plan itself being discounted.

Apple AirTag

Documented, and consistent. The AirTag 4-pack hit $62.99 from $99 at Amazon on 28 November 2025, which MacRumors reported as a new all-time low at the time. Apple products carry a shorter holiday-return window at Amazon (15 January in 2025's policy). If you are gifting an AirTag for a dog, budget for a collar holder — the tag has no attachment of its own.

Smart GPS collars (Fi, Halo) and premium kennels

Documented for the brands named, none of which we currently rank: Outdoor Life's Black Friday 2025 dog-gear coverage listed the Fi Series 3+ collar at $50 off, the Halo 5 at $50 off, and the Gunner G1 kennel at $100 off. We include it because it establishes that the “connected collar” class and the premium crash-rated kennel class both moved on Black Friday 2025, which is relevant context even though our own picks in those classes are different products.

What we could not verify — and are not going to guess about

We looked for a credible public record of a Black Friday discount on Sherpa carriers, Sleepypod carriers and harnesses, Petmate kennels and Kurgo car gear, and did not find one we would put our name to. There are coupon-aggregator pages claiming large percentages for all of them; those pages are generated, undated and unverifiable, and they are not evidence. That does not mean these brands will not discount in 2026. It means we do not know, and this page will say so until we see a price. If you are deciding whether to wait on one of these, treat the answer as “no documented history” and decide on need, not on hope.

The low-priced essentials — collapsible bowls, poop-bag dispensers, wipes, ID tags, tethers — are a different case. They may well be marked down, but a 20% discount on a $9 bowl is $1.80, and the shipping thresholds you hit assembling a basket of them matter more than the discounts. Buy them when you need them.

Buy now or wait for late November — by product class

Airline carriers: buy now if there is a flight before December

A carrier has to fit the dog, fit the airline's under-seat limit, and be something the dog has spent a week getting used to before travel day. None of that fits into the four days between Cyber Monday and a December trip. If the flight is in November or early December, buy now and use the return window if the size is wrong. If the next flight is spring, waiting costs nothing — but we have no documented history of the carriers we rank discounting, so do not wait expecting a deal.

Crash-tested car harnesses: do not defer safety for an undocumented discount

Our two top picks are the Sleepypod Clickit Sport and the Kurgo Impact. We could not verify a Black Friday history for either. A dog riding loose for two more months to maybe save a few dollars is the wrong trade; if the dog is unrestrained today, buy the harness today.

GPS trackers: the clearest case for waiting

Tractive announced 40% off for Black Friday 2025 and the AirTag 4-pack hit its low the same weekend. If you do not need a tracker before late November — no travel, no new dog, no recent escape — this is the class where holding has the best-documented payoff. Remember that for cellular trackers the subscription is the real long-term cost and has no discount history we could find.

Ruffwear outdoor gear: wait if your size is common, buy if it is not

A 25% Amazon-wide discount is documented for 2025. The catch is stock: Ruffwear's clearance is deepest on colours and sizes being discontinued, and those sell through. A medium in the current colour is a reasonable thing to wait for; an XXS or an L/XL in a specific colour may not be there on the day. Ruffwear's own Specials page is worth a look at any time of year.

Beds, crates, hammocks: buy on need

No documented Black Friday history for the specific products we rank (the Gunner kennel deal above is a different class of product at a different price). A hammock or a soft crate is a trip-driven purchase; buy it before the trip that needs it.

Small essentials: buy whenever

The savings are too small to plan around. Buy them when you run out.

Deals will be posted here when they go live

When Black Friday 2026 deals on the products we rank appear, this section becomes the list — each entry with the price we saw, the list price Amazon showed, and the date and time we saw it. Until then it stays empty on purpose. The board directly below this text is the automated version: it shows anything we rank that Amazon is currently reporting below its own list price, generated from our price feed on every refresh, so it will start filling in on its own as prices move in November.

From the price data, not from us

Live markdowns right now

Every product we rank that Amazon is currently reporting at 10% or more below its own list price, as of Sep 13, 2026. This board is generated from our price feed on every refresh — nothing on it is typed in, and it is not a Black Friday deal list until Black Friday exists. The “list price” is Amazon's reference number, not a price we verified was ever charged, so treat the percentage as a hint to look closer, not as proof of a bargain.

Pros

  • The Guaranteed On Board program reimburses your ticket if an airline on its approved list denies boarding — no other carrier here offers that backstop
  • The spring-wire top frame pushes down, so it squashes into a tight under-seat gap that a rigid carrier won't
  • Mesh on three panels, which is the ventilation an anxious dog needs on a hot jet bridge

Cons

  • Sizing runs small for the weight it lists — a dog at the top of a size's range is a squeeze
  • The base is soft; larger dogs get a floppier floor than a structured carrier gives

Don't buy this if…

your dog is at the very top of a size band. Sherpa's dimensions are honest but tight, and the carrier that fits the dog but not the seat is the classic gate-agent problem. Measure and size up.

Pros

  • Sleepypod publishes Center for Pet Safety crash-test results, and the Clickit line is the reference other harnesses get compared to
  • The wide, padded chest plate spreads crash forces across the sternum instead of the throat — the design detail the cheap harnesses miss
  • Doubles as a walking harness, so it isn't single-purpose gear sitting in a trunk

Cons

  • Expensive — several times the price of a basic seatbelt tether
  • Fussier to fit correctly than a clip-on tether; a loose fit undoes the engineering

Don't buy this if…

you won't fit it properly every time. A three-point harness worn loose loses much of what you paid for — if you want fast and foolproof over maximum protection, a simpler harness you'll actually cinch is the honest trade.

Pros

  • Three doors mean it fits whatever orientation your hotel room or trunk forces on you
  • Collapses flat into an included carry bag — genuinely packable for a road trip
  • Wide size range, so you can match the dog rather than round up

Cons

  • Soft mesh is no match for a determined chewer — this is for settled, crate-trained dogs
  • Not a containment device for a dog left alone who wants out

Don't buy this if…

your dog chews or panics in a crate. Soft-sided means fabric and zips, and a motivated escape artist is through it — for chewers, a hard crate is the only honest answer.

Pros

  • Ruffwear's fit and durability are the reason it's the trail-community default, not the price

Cons

  • No rigid grab handle — for lifting a dog over obstacles you want the Web Master instead
  • Costs more than the no-name harnesses that look similar in a photo

Don't buy this if…

you need to physically lift or spot your dog on scrambles. The Front Range is a walking-and-hiking harness; for hand-of-God lifts, step up to the Web Master's handle.

Pros

  • True cellular GPS: it reports live location anywhere there's a mobile signal, not just within Bluetooth range
  • Waterproof and light enough to ride on a collar all day
  • Live tracking and virtual fences are the features an escape-prone dog actually needs

Cons

  • Requires a paid subscription — the device price is not the real cost of ownership
  • Battery is measured in days or weeks, not months — Tractive lists up to two weeks with Power Saving Zones, and about six days without them

Don't buy this if…

you won't pay a monthly fee. Without the subscription a cellular tracker is a paperweight — if you refuse the fee, an AirTag is the honest alternative.

Pros

  • Kurgo builds car and trail gear as its main business, and the strap hardware shows it
  • Hammock shape stops a dog sliding into the footwell on a hard stop, which a flat cover does not
  • Wide enough for a full bench without leaving a gap at the door sills

Cons

  • Priced well above the commodity hammocks for a broadly similar shape
  • A hammock blocks the footwells, so it is a dog-only back seat while it is fitted

Don't buy this if…

you carry passengers in the back regularly. A hammock and a rear passenger are mutually exclusive; buy a bench-style cover instead.

Pros

  • The handle is positioned and reinforced for lifting a soaked dog out of water, which is where budget handles tear
  • Foam distribution keeps a dog level rather than nose-down, so it can swim in the jacket instead of fighting it
  • Neck closure adjusts telescopically, which is the difference between a jacket that fits a barrel-chested dog and one that does not

Cons

  • The most expensive jacket here by a wide margin
  • More coverage means more heat, and a dog will notice on a hot dock

Don't buy this if…

your dog paddles in a lake twice a summer. The Granby covers that; the Float Coat is for boat decks and current.

Pros

  • Stainless insulation keeps water cold on a hot walk — most dog bottles are single-wall and warm fast
  • The flip-up trough and one-way return button let a dog drink and send the rest back into the bottle, wasting almost nothing
  • A physical lock switch means it rides in a bag without dribbling

Cons

  • Heavier and bulkier than a thin plastic bottle because of the steel insulation
  • The most expensive bottle here

Don't buy this if…

you want the lightest thing for a short walk. The insulation and steel are the value on a hot, long day out — for a ten-minute stroll it's more bottle than you need.

Pros

  • No monthly fee and a coin-cell battery that lasts about a year — the opposite of the cellular trackers
  • The Find My network is enormous in populated areas, so a lost dog near people gets located fast
  • Dirt cheap per tag in the four-pack, and useful on luggage and keys too

Cons

  • It is not GPS — it has no live location and relies on a nearby iPhone to report it, which fails in the empty countryside where a dog most needs finding
  • Needs a separate collar holder, and works meaningfully only for Apple users

Don't buy this if…

your dog roams rural areas or you're on Android. With no passing iPhones there's nothing to report a location, and off the Apple ecosystem it's the wrong tool — get the Tractive.

About the picks above

The ranked list on this page is not a deals list. It is the current number-one pick from each of our flagship roundups — flying, car safety, crates, hiking, tracking, hammocks, water — with the same live Amazon price you would see on those pages, so that when a deal does land you can see it against what we would have recommended anyway. The one addition is the AirTag, which is the runner-up in our tracker roundup but has the clearest Black Friday price history of anything we cover. Each card links to the roundup where the product earned its place; read that before you buy, deal or no deal — a discount on the wrong size is not a saving.

How we will update this page

Prices on the buttons refresh daily from Amazon's API and vanish rather than go stale. The historical section above is edited only when we find a new source we can link. The deals section is edited by hand when we see a live price on a product we rank, and every entry carries the date we saw it. Nothing here is projected, estimated or remembered.

How we picked

We do not test the gear

We compiled the manufacturers' published dimensions and specs, cross-checked them against airline under-seat limits and published safety certifications, read the owner reviews, and scored each product against a published rubric. The scores are judgments from that research — they are not measurements we took, because we do not own a lab and we are not going to pretend we do. Where we could not verify a fit or a claim, we say so on the page.

Questions

Frequently asked

When is Black Friday 2026?
Friday 27 November 2026, with Cyber Monday on Monday 30 November. Amazon's 2025 event ran twelve days, from 20 November through 1 December; 2026 dates had not been announced when we wrote this.
Which dog travel gear actually goes on sale for Black Friday?
With sources we can link: Ruffwear gear was 25% off on Amazon for Black Friday 2025, Tractive announced 40% off its trackers, the AirTag 4-pack hit $62.99 from $99, and connected collars such as Fi and Halo were $50 off. For Sherpa, Sleepypod, Petmate and Kurgo we found no credible record either way.
Should I wait for Black Friday to buy a dog carrier for a December flight?
No. The carrier has to fit the dog and the airline's under-seat limit and the dog needs a week to get used to it. Buy now, use the return window if the size is wrong, and treat any November discount as a bonus you did not plan around.
Is the Tractive subscription discounted on Black Friday?
We found no record of it. The 2025 announcement covered the trackers. The subscription is required — the device has a built-in SIM — and is the larger cost over the life of the tracker.
Are the percentages on Amazon's 'list price' real discounts?
Treat them as a hint, not proof. The list price is Amazon's reference figure and we have not verified it was ever charged. Our live board shows them because they are what the data says, and the copy says whose number it is.

We do not run a testing lab, and we do not pretend to. Product dimensions and safety claims come from the manufacturer's own listing; airline limits come from the airline's published policy, with the date we checked it. Where we could not verify something, we say so on the page rather than quietly leaving it out. Read our full method.
